Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training course which was co-organised by Samsung and the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on April 2nd, MoIT Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai said that in terms of industrial cooperation, Vietnam has received assistance from the Government of the Republic of Korea as well as Korean organizations and groups.

Since 2014, MoIT has worked with Samsung Vietnam to seek sufficient Vietnamese support industry businesses to join its production chain through workshops, exhibitions and surveys.

“The program contributes to increasing the number of businesses that become first-class providers and join Samsung supply chain,” Mr. Hai added.

The number of trained experts in 2019 will raise the number of experts trained in two years to 200, as set in a memorandum of understanding signed in March 2018 between Samsung and MoIT. As planned, 30% of the most excellent trainees, or roughly 60, will be sent to the RoK for higher training.

The first higher training course was organized in March with the participation of the 14 most excellent trainees. With four weeks in the RoK, they were provided with knowledge on quality management, the organization and making of consultancy plans for businesses, while visiting and learning about production processes of Samsung’s world leading modern plants as well as other Korean small- and medium-sized businesses.

Mr Choi Joo Ho, Samsung Vietnam General Director, confirmed that Samsung had committed to be a leading business in developing the Vietnamese support industry./.
