Congratulations to Kim Jong-un on re-election as head of DPRK state panel

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Nguyen Phu Trong on April 13th sent a message of congratulations to Chairman of the Workers’ Party of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un on his re-election as head of the State Affairs Commission.

Kim was elected again as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission at the first session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on April 11th, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
According to the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK edited in 2016, the Supreme People's Assembly is the highest organ of state power and the unicameral legislature.
It consists of one deputy from each of the DPRK's 687 constituencies elected to a five-year term. The State Affairs Commission Chairman is the top leader of the country. In March, the 14th Supreme People's Assembly elected 687 deputies./.
