On April 14th, Mr. Le Minh Tan, Director of city Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that the assistance is worth VND1 million per month for 3 months for each of nearly 47,000 workers and labourers, and some 31,500 private and non-public preschool teachers.

As of April 14th, 11 of 24 districts continue to supplement the list of lottery ticket sellers who need support, bringing the total number of lottery sellers in need to over 18,700 people. They have been supported with some VND14 billion, with the first phase of allocation taking place from April 6th-10th and the second phase from April 14th-15th.

Mr. Tan added that the department had given some VND500,000 to each of 6,300 people being cared for in social protection establishments to improve their quality of meals, and help the elderly and children increase resistance for avoiding disease.

According to Mr. Tan, the city is expected to give assistance to all of 42,000 revolutionary contributors with VND500,000 each per month; VND500,000-700,000 per month to each of 132,000 social beneficiaries; and VND250,000 per month to each of 127,000 people in 32,000 poor families.

The list of unemployed workers and labourers as well as social beneficiaries across 24 districts continue to be updated for support. “The assistance confirms the city’s commitment on not letting anyone be left behind in COVID-19,” said Mr. Tan./.
