The remains were found in Laos and brought back to Vietnam by the provincial Military Command’s search team for martyrs’ remains during the 2019-2020 dry season.
Addressing the reburial ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Dang Quyen highlighted the significance of the search for and repatriation of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts.
Quyen thanked leaders of the Lao Party, authorities, armed forces, and people, especially those in Houaphane province, and expressed a hope that the two sides will continue working closely together to search for and collect the remains of other Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts.
The team has searched for, recovered, and repatriated thousands of sets of remains of Vietnamese martyrs since 1998./.
