The Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee on May 28th organized a meeting to announce a resolution by the National Assembly Standing Committee establishing Hoai Nhon town and its wards.

According to the resolution, Hoai Nhon district is officially renamed Hoai Nhon town as of June 1st, 2020.
Hoai Nhon town covers all 420.84 square kilometers of natural area and a population of 212,063 people of Hoai Nhon district, with 11 wards and 6 communes.
Also according to the resolution, the Hoai Nhon town People's Court and People's Procuracy were established on the basis of the Hoai Nhon district People's Court and People's Procuracy.
After presenting the resolution, the Chairman of the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee asked the Hoai Nhon town People’s Committee and departments and sectors in the province to build Hoai Nhon into a development centre in northern Binh Dinh province, contributing to promote the socio-economic development of the province.
At the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung presented a decision renaming Hoai Nhon district Party Committee into Hoai Nhon town Party Committee to the Standing Board of the Hoai Nhon town Party Committee.
Chairman of Hoai Nhon town People’s Committee Cao Thanh Thuong said that from 2015 to now, Hoai Nhon district has spent over 3,200 billion VND on infrastructure investment, upgrading to meet urban standard grade 4. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc recognized Hoai Nhon district as meeting new-style rural standards in 2018, two years earlier than the plan.
The State President also awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal in the movement of building new-style rural areas in the period of 2016-2020 to the administration and people of Hoai Nhon district. At the end of 2019, the Ministry of Construction recognized Hoai Nhon as meeting the urban standard grade 4. By 2019, per capita income of Hoai Nhon district reached nearly 54 million VND/year.
