In his speech at the event, Mr. Do Duc Duy, Deputy Secretary of the Yen Bai Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of the provincial Council for Emulation and Commendation, stressed that the congress offers opportunities to commend and honor teams, individuals, typical examples representing all levels, branches and classes of the people.
Through the event, the organizers expect to arouse and foster the strength of the great unity bloc; promote internal strength; overcome difficulties and challenges and comprehensively speed up renovation; striving to successfully carry out the Resolution of the 19th Yen Bai Party Congress and making Yen Bai develop rapidly and sustainably in the direction of green, harmonious and happy development.
Over the past five years (2016-2020), emulation movements in all fields brought about practical results, making important contributions to fulfilling goals and tasks for socio-economic development. Thanks to that, the provincial economy continues to grow, with GRDP growth rate estimated at 7.3% in 2020 and the growth rate for the 2016-2020 period reaching 6.65% a year. Average per capita GRDP is estimated to hit VND42 million in 2020, up 1.5 fold from 2015.
The patriotic emulation movement in the 2016-2020 period saw strong development. Many emulation movements have been implemented effectively, such as “Yen Bai works together to build new-style rural areas”, “Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning” and “All people unite to build new-style rural areas.”
On behalf of leaders of the Party, State and the Central Council for Emulation and Commendation, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh congratulated and hailed the achievements in emulation movements and commendation work of Yen Bai in the 2015-2020 period.
She asked party executive committees, authorities, fatherland front, and socio-political organizations to focus on leading and guiding effective implementation of guidelines and policies of the Party and State on emulation and commendation, and to renew methods and measures to organize practical movements.
The congress approved the list of 11 members for the delegation to attend the 10th National Patriotic Congress.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Vietnam Sponsorship Fund, the Vice President donated VND200 million to students in Yen Bai. Earlier, delegates reported on their achievements at the memorial area of President Ho Chi Minh./.
