Cao Bang Province’s youngsters follow Uncle Ho’s teachings

When he was alive, President Ho Chi Minh always gave young people special attention, trust and affection. In a letter to youngsters on August 17, 1947, he confirmed that the youth were the future of the country, thus they should practice at present for the future.

In realization of Uncle Ho’s teachings, the youth in the northern province of Cao Bang have held diverse creative activities to contribute their efforts to local socio-economic development.

In studying Uncle Ho’s example, since 2016, all levels of the Provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organized 1,265 thematic learning activities on Ho Chi Minh's moral example; 30 contests to learn about his ideology, morality and style; and developed 600 bookcases with 24,200 books for children and youth.

In addition, the union has encouraged its members to join social welfare and voluntary activities for the community. Over the past 5 years, the youth of the whole province contributed 422,156 working days, supported the construction of 144 charitable houses, concreted 453 kilometers of rural roads; and coordinated with medical staff to give health check-ups and free medicine to 16,922 people.

Joining the fight against COVID-19, they have allocated over 200,000 face masks, 1,000 hand-washing liquid containers, 5,000 fliers on COVID-19 prevention; and organized 500 activities to encourage soldiers on duty of COVID-19 prevention at border areas.

Members of the Provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Agencies and Businesses Blocs have mobilized 13,800 working days to support the construction of new-style rural areas, concreted 3.1 km of rural roads; handed over 4 playgrounds for children; supported the relocation of cattle sheds from under the floor of houses for 63 households; and organized 11 training courses on agricultural knowledge for people./.
