Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper launches Russian and Spanish versions

The launching ceremony of the Russian and Spanish versions of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper was held by the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education and the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper in Hanoi on the afternoon of August 27, 2021. The ceremony was held solemnly with a limited number of attendees, ensuring the requirements of COVID-19 prevention and

control.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education, attended the ceremony, delivered a directing speech and pressed the button to begin broadcast of these two important versions.

He expressed his joy when this meaningful event took place on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and the National Day (September 2).

Over the years, the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper has always made efforts to innovate and improve the quality and form of its content to meet the increasing information requirements of the public. In particular, the newspaper has paid great attention to the introduction and promotion of the image of the Vietnamese country and people to foreign readers.  From the first two foreign language versions, English and Chinese, the newspaper built a French page. And today, with the launch of two pages in Russian and Spanish, the newspaper has five international language versions. That shows the creative and proactive spirit of the newspaper in order to constantly improve the quality of information and expand the audience.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia congratulated and praised the sense of responsibility, initiative and creativity of the Editorial Board of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper; and the positive spirit and effective coordination between the newspaper and related agencies and units to quickly deploy and launch the two Russian and Spanish pages.

Sharing information about the country's situation, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said that at present the whole Party, people and army are making efforts to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and resolutions of Party congresses at all levels; promote the renovation work comprehensively and synchronously; to lead the country firmly forward, to develop quickly and sustainably. In 2021 and the following years, the country faces many opportunities but also many new and harsh challenges, especially in the context of the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper and press agencies focus on communicating the drastic direction of the Party and State leaders on COVID-19 prevention and control; and raising awareness and responsibility of all people in pandemic prevention and control under the principle "5K + vaccine".

Further focus is on providing timely information to the people about the pandemic situation and measures to prevent and control the pandemic under the guidance of the Ministry of Health; praising organizations and individuals that have well performed pandemic prevention and control measures; and supporting activities that show the spirit of friendship and solidarity of countries, diplomatic organizations and international partners for Vietnam.

Introducing the content and design of the pages in the Russian and Spanish languages, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper Tran Doan Tien said that they would convey to readers the latest information about Vietnam; guidelines and directions of the Party, policies and laws of the State; Vietnam's viewpoints and stance on international and regional issues; and the image of the Vietnamese country and people.

In particular, the two publications will provide Russian and Spanish readers articles and documents about President Ho Chi Minh's life, career and heritage; Vietnam's achievements and experiences in the Doi Moi (renewal) process; and Vietnam's aspirations and efforts towards the goal of becoming a powerful nation.

In addition, the two publications also focus on reflecting the life of the Vietnamese community abroad, the protection of Vietnamese citizens in foreign countries; and Vietnam's affirmation of its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Archipelagos.

Editor-in-Chief Tran Doan Tien expressed his hope that the two new pages would help Russian and Spanish readers more easily search information about Vietnam and gain deeper understanding about Vietnam. “They will also be an official and useful source of information for domestic and foreign press agencies,” he added.

Mr. Tran Doan Tien said that the current results and successes are still modest and just the beginning. The Editorial Board of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper looks forward to continuing to receive the attention, suggestions and direction of the leaders of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularization and Education, and the cooperation of central and local ministries and departments; agencies and units; diplomatic organizations; partners; prestigious experts and scientists for the Newspaper to continue to innovate and improve the quality of the content and form of its publications, including the two webpages in Russian and Spanish.

Ealier, popularization in Russian and Spanish was developed on the “Communist Party of Vietnam-13th National Party Congress” webpage from October 2020 and showed significant effect, attracting a large number of visits from international readers./.
