MAUR and the contractors are striving to complete the project by the end of 2024, aiming to put the modern mass transportation system into operation to meet the commuting needs of the city's residents and contribute to solving the urban traffic challenges.

To achieve this goal, it is essential to complete the remaining tasks, particularly the practical training on the trains and equipment of the project following the theoretical and simulated training conducted in Vietnam and Japan. This hands-on training will allow trainees to apply the knowledge they have learned and gain practical experience on the very trains that will be put into service for the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier, to facilitate practical training on the actual line for HURC1 employees, since August 5, 2024, the contractor Hitachi has begun handing over the entire electro-mechanical system of package CP3 to the NJPT joint venture consulting group. The handed-over equipment includes 11 systems: the train system, rail system, ticketing system, communication system, signaling system, signage system, power supply system, overhead power supply system, depot and workshop equipment system, supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA), and the platform screen door system.

On August 16, 2024, NJPT also officially received two trains from Hitachi to commence practical training on the actual line for train operators and dispatchers. According to the plan, the practical training for HURC1 employees will conclude in September 2024.

Upon completion of this training, the trained staff will participate in trial run operations in October and November 2024, with an independent evaluation by the French safety system consultant BVT. Based on the trial run assessment results and the Safety System Appraisal Report by BVT, the investor will submit the documentation to the Railway Department for safety appraisal and to the State Acceptance Council for final acceptance, allowing the project to be put into operation./.
