According to the Management Board of the Vaccine Fund for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, as of 5:00 p.m. on June 13, the fund received VND4.851 trillion (including converted foreign currency) contributed by 291,818 organizations and individuals.
According to the Ministry of Finance, to vaccinate 75 million people against COVID-19, Vietnam needs 150 million doses of the vaccine, with a total cost of VND 25.2 trillion.
“The Ministry of Finance has allocated a budget of more than VND14 trillion, together with resources contributed by domestic and foreign organizations, individuals and businesses, up to now, thus the capital for the vaccine fund has been a relatively large resource,” said Finance Minister Ho Duc Phoc. “This has a very important meaning in purchasing and injecting vaccines for the entire population.”
The COVID-19 vaccine fund level is published every day.
Currently, in addition to receiving monetary contributions via switchboard 1408, the Vaccine Fund Management Board has opened 21 receiving accounts for 3 currencies (VND, USD, EUR) at the State Treasury Exchange and 6 commercial banks, including BIDV, Vietcombank, VietinBank, HDBank, Agribank and TPBank.
Following the Prime Minister's direction on the establishment of a portal to receive donations in order to create favorable conditions for groups and individuals to support the fund, the Vaccine Fund Management Board added 3 more receiving accounts at 3 banks.
Thus far, there are 15 accounts receiving donations from organizations and individuals./.
