This funding is part of a USD500,000 disaster relief package aimed at addressing the aftermath of natural disasters in Asia, Europe and the United States, in collaboration with CARE, Team Rubicon and the Spanish Red Cross.
Through CARE, the GE Vernova Foundation will provide aid to two severely affected areas in Cao Bang Province: Phan Thanh Commune (Nguyen Binh District) and Dinh Phung Commune (Bao Lac District). This initiative aims to help residents recover and rebuild their lives following Typhoon Yagi, the most devastating storm to hit Vietnam in three decades.
The USD100,000 grant from the GE Vernova Foundation will cover various recovery efforts, including providing household supplies and refurbishing school facilities. An estimated 300 families, approximately 1,200 individuals in these regions, will benefit from the assistance.
The Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Program initiated by the GE Vernova Foundation is part of its global efforts to respond to natural disasters and humanitarian crises. The program mobilizes the people, technology and resources of GE Vernova to mitigate damages and accelerate recovery. Recently, the foundation collaborated with the American Red Cross to address the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in the southeastern United States./.
