This practical initiative celebrates the success of the series of activities marking the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10).
Nippon Paint Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hanoi) is a joint venture between Japan's Nippon Paint Corporation and Nipsea Holdings International Ltd Singapore. Currently, the company's factory operates in the Quang Minh Industrial Zone, employing 280 workers.
Recognizing the need to enhance the spiritual life of union members and workers, the Trade Union of Hanoi’s Industrial and Export Processing Zones requested the Hanoi Federation of Labor invest VND90 million to create a Workers' Cultural Space equipped with essential facilities for workers.
With an available 120-square-meter communal activity room, along with the investment from the Federation of Labor, the company arranged additional amenities, such as a shared reading corner with tables, chairs and bookshelves; a sports area with two ping-pong tables, a chessboard and decorative plants.
New equipment, including a TV, speakers, amplifiers, wireless microphones and digital sound processors, was installed to facilitate communication, allowing the trade union to broadcast news and announcements. This also provides workers with opportunities to socialize during birthdays or events.
Notably, the Workers' Cultural Space features a "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space," displayed in a prominent location. This space showcases many documents, artifacts and authentic, simple images of President Ho Chi Minh.
The opening and use of this Workers' Cultural Space and Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space will contribute to enhancing the lives of staff, union members and workers, offering cultural values and bringing joy, confidence and a stronger connection between workers and the company. In turn, this is expected to improve productivity and business efficiency.
According to statistics, there are currently 67 Workers' Cultural Spaces operating effectively across Hanoi. Furthermore, starting in 2024, the Hanoi Federation of Labor has directed all trade union levels in the capital to establish Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces to encourage workers to reflect on themselves, strive in their work and studies, and do good deeds, ultimately aiming for a better life./.
