The project aims to propose a plan and roadmap for converting and developing buses using electricity and green energy in the city according to the roadmap approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 876/QD-TTg dated July 22, 2022.
At the same time, the project proposes solutions to convert, develop and achieve a rate of 100% of vehicles using electricity and green energy by 2035.
According to the conversion plan, in early 2025, four transport units (including Hanoi Transport Corporation, Newway Transport Joint Stock Company, Hai Van International Transport Joint Venture Company and Bao Yen Construction Service Tourism Company Limited) will invest and pilot five electric bus routes, with 76 vehicles.
For bus routes with bids expiring in 2025, the city will convert large diesel vehicles to large electric buses. The total number of vehicles expected to be converted in 2025 is 103, about 5% of the total number of converted vehicles.
The total number of vehicles expected to be converted in the 2026-2030 period is 1,813 vehicles. The conversion rate of vehicles using electricity and green energy by 2030 is expected to reach 93.4% of the total number of converted vehicles.
In the 2031-2035 period, the total number of vehicles expected to be converted is 238. It is expected that by 2035, the conversion rate of vehicles using electricity and green energy will reach 100% of the total number of vehicles./.
