Speaking at the program, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Bui Thi Hoa emphasized the contributions of generations of Red Cross staff, members and volunteers. She highlighted their steadfast commitment to the core principles that define the society: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.

This annual event honors domestic and international partners who contributed to humanitarian activities and the Red Cross movement over the past year. It aims to spread the spirit of the “Good Deeds for a Compassionate Community” movement, inspire kindness, and mobilize resources to assist disadvantaged individuals during the Lunar New Year celebrations of 2025.

For the “Compassionate Tet” of 2025, the society aims to care for and support 1.2 million vulnerable individuals, with total activities valued at VND700 billion. Activities will be carried out from January 7-26, 2025, with a peak period from January 14-23, 2025.

Beneficiaries include impoverished and near-poor households, disadvantaged families, those affected by Agent Orange, people with disabilities, patients in difficult circumstances, and households impacted by natural disasters in 2024, especially those in northern regions severely affected by Typhoon No. 3. Other vulnerable groups include individuals unable to celebrate Tet with their families due to solitary or challenging conditions.

Following the program, the Vietnam Red Cross Society held the 2024 Partner Gathering Program under the theme "Entrepreneurs - A Destination of Kindness." The event sought to strengthen and expand cooperation with corporate partners, fostering warm and sincere relationships. It also provided a platform for partners to exchange and share success stories in humanitarian work, enhancing collaboration and deepening the significance of cooperative programs in the society’s activities.

As part of “Humanitarian Power” 2024, the campaign “Millions of Kind Steps - Continuing the Golden Legacy” was launched with nearly 600 delegates, staff, members and volunteers of the Hanoi Red Cross Society, as well as students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, participating in a walk to support the campaign.

The campaign, hosted on the online fitness platform vRace, runs from November 23, 2024, to April 28, 2025. Its goals include attracting 200,000 participants to walk or run a collective distance of 5 million kilometers and raising VND5 billion for humanitarian activities./.
