President of Australian Senate pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines and a high-ranking delegation of the country’s parliament respectfully laid a wreath and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum in Hanoi on August 26.

At the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines paid an official visit to Vietnam from August 24 - 30, 2024.
Vietnam and Australia established a Comprehensive Partnership in 2009 and upgraded to a Strategic Partnership in 2018. Particularly, in March 2024, within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Australia, Vietnam and Australia announced the upgrade of their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening a new phase in the relationship between the two countries.
The official visit to Vietnam by President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines has a great significance, marking the more than 50-year journey of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, contributing to deepening and substantively strengthening the relationship between the two countries' legislative bodies, making this relationship an important pillar in the overall bilateral relationship, commensurate with the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, meeting the aspirations and practical interests of the people of the two countries, actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, friendship and development in the region as well as in the world./.
