From 2021 to 2023, Soc Trang Province supported the construction and renovation of 36 houses for families of those with meritorious services and 5,206 houses for poor households.

In Long Phu District alone, from 2019 to 2024, nearly 1,000 houses and 470 bridges were built or renovated from various sources, following the policies of the central and provincial governments.

However, due to various objective factors, many families, including those with meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households and ethnic minority communities in Soc Trang Province still lack safe housing. This underscores the need for collective community efforts to address the issue.

Soc Trang Province aims to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for over 8,430 households, with a total estimated budget of nearly VND 444 billion. The goal is to complete this initiative before September 30, 2025, to celebrate the 15th Soc Trang Provincial Party Congress.

On this occasion, the Soc Trang branches of the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) and the Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) each contributed VND100 billion. Additionally, the Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) provided VND80 billion to support the construction of new housing and the elimination of temporary and dilapidated homes in Soc Trang Province.

Moreover, numerous organizations and individuals have contributed funds, houses, and gifts to poor households in Long Phu District./.
