Storm Yagi is long past, but overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, especially the restoration of roads, bridges, electricity systems and houses in the northern mountainous provinces, is still being implemented. Poor and near-poor households in the localities continue to face many difficulties in their daily lives and activities. Many families are facing food and clothing shortages, especially as winter approaches.
Duong Quy and Nam Chay are the two communes with the largest number of poor and near-poor households in Lao Cai, especially Nam Chay accounts for more than 30% of the total 1,000 households.
The gifts, including blankets, mats, mosquito nets, rice, instant noodles, seasoning powder and cooking oil, worth 261 million VND, were handed over by Center Two staff to 170 poor and near-poor households in Duong Quy and 330 poor and near-poor households in Nam Chay. This is extremely practical support.
Earlier, in September and October 2024, Center Two presented gifts worth 600,000 VND each to 389 poor and near-poor households in Hang Lia commune and 600 poor and near-poor households in Sa Dung commune, Dien Bien Dong district./.
