Thousands of pupils and teachers benefit from “Helmets for Kids” program

As part of the “Helmets for Kids in Vietnam” initiative, the National Traffic Safety Committee, AIP Foundation, and Johnson & Johnson Vietnam, in collaboration with the Yen Bai Provincial Traffic Safety Board, donated 1,300 United Nations ECE 22 standard helmets to students at Tran Nhat Duat High School (Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province).

This event also marked the conclusion of the “Helmets for Kids” program after 13 years of dedication to improving the safety of Vietnamese children. Over the years, the partnership between AIP Foundation and Johnson & Johnson has had a significant and positive impact on road traffic safety in Vietnam.
From 2012 to 2024, the “Helmets for Kids in Vietnam” program reached 109 schools across nine provinces and cities, providing 84,326 high-quality helmets to students, teachers and staff. It is estimated that the program has protected approximately 882 students and teachers from the risk of traumatic brain injuries during traffic accidents.
In 2024 alone, the program distributed 5,250 standard helmets to students and teachers at participating schools, including 2,800 helmets that met the United Nations ECE 22 standard.
ECE 22 standard helmets are proven to absorb stronger impacts, offering better protection in traffic accidents. This year, the program focused on northern provinces of Vietnam, ensuring safer commutes for children in regions like Yen Bai./.
