Funded by the United States Indo-Pacific Command through the Overseas Humanitarian Disaster Assistance and Civic Action Program, the newly constructed two-story kindergarten stands as a beacon of hope for the community. It will not only serve as a center for education for the children of Trieu Thuan commune, but it can also provide shelter for people in need during natural disasters, reaffirming the United States’ commitment to the well-being of Vietnam in times of crisis.
The genesis of this project stems from the collaborative efforts of the United States Office of Defense Cooperation in Vietnam and Quang Tri province, who jointly identified the need for such a facility in March 2021. Through their partnership, a tangible progress was made to address the educational and safety needs of the communities in the region.
Comprising six fully furnished classrooms and two teacher’s rooms, the Trieu Thuan Kindergarten serves as a symbol of hope, unity, and progress and stands as a testament to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the United States and Vietnam.
The construction and support for this initiative were made possible through the collective efforts of the Chuong Duong Company, the New Horizon Company, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee.
The handover ceremony reaffirms the shared commitment to fostering education, promoting resilience, and building stronger communities, reflecting the enduring bonds of friendship between the United States and Vietnam./.
