Congratulating to Ms. Oh Young Ju on her appointment as the first female Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, at the right time when the two countries are organizing many activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed his belief that with experience in diplomatic activities, the Ambassador will contribute to promoting Vietnam - RoK relations, including the relations between the HCMA and Korean partners.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, in the common development of the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and RoK, HCMA and Korean organizations and partners, including the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Samsung Group, and the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, have organized effective cooperation programs and projects, especially projects on training and retraining key managers at strategic level of Vietnam.
He highly appreciated the global Samsung program (VSOP) between the HCMA and Samsung Group. This is a program to exchange and share knowledge and experience for high-level leaders of Vietnam, which has been implemented since 2015. Through the program, the future leaders and managers of Vietnam have the opportunity not only to exchange, share experiences and learn about the development of Samsung, but also about the culture and development vision of RoK.
The HCMA leader suggested that the Ambassador, in her position, continue to act as a bridge to help the academy research the possibility of cooperation and promote cooperation projects with Korean organizations/partners in the fields of training, improving staff capacity, and enhancing knowledge sharing and exchange; thereby contributing to deepening the close and effective cooperation between Vietnam and RoK.
Following the success of the research cooperation project "Partners share experiences in developing DEEP for Vietnam Vision" in the period of 2015-2018, Mr. Thang proposed to continue promoting the implementation of the project "Building a set of indicators to evaluate government performance" and emphasizing that this is an important task in the context that Vietnam is making efforts to build an e-Government and implement the national digital transformation program.
For her part, Ambassador Oh Young Ju said that RoK highly appreciates Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements in recent years, as well as Vietnam's increasing role and position in the international arena.
Ambassador Oh Young Ju said that the Korean Embassy in Vietnam is willing to act as a bridge for cooperation between the HCMA and Korean organizations/partners, and pledged best efforts to successfully implement cooperation programs with the HCMA in the coming time./.
