Vietnamese student wins first prize in French Olympiad 2021

Ngo Minh Long, a 12th grader from Hon Gai High School in the northern province of Quang Ninh, brought home the first prize of the individual exam at level B1 for the Vietnamese student group at French Olympiad 2021.

The Vietnamese delegation was also ranked second in the contest for making a video clip introducing the country. The video has been appreciated by international jurymen who all expressed their wish to visit Vietnam in the future.
The French Olympiad 2021 was held virtually from December 7-9 with the participation of 94 students from 20 countries in Africa, Europe and Asia. Vietnamese delegation has five students from proposed lists of provinces.
The competition was jointly organized by the Conference of Education Ministers of French-Speaking Countries (CONFEMEN) and the Organization of Francophonie International (OIF).
The speaking part of the team, the student groups simulated the debate on television according to the topic drawn by the Organizing Committee and announced at the opening ceremony. The topic of this year's speaking test is to defend a social network (real or imagined) that students consider most suitable for forming friendships with young people of the same age.
In addition, each country participating in the Olympiad created a video introducing their country to compete in the official contest on the sidelines./.
