Party and State leaders commemorate heroic fallen soldiers

A delegation from the Party Central Committee, State President, the National Assembly, the Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, on July 27th laid a wreath at the memorial for fallen soldiers on Bac Son Street, Hanoi, to commemorate heroic fallen soldiers, and pay a homage to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.

This was part of activities to mark the 71st Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers (July 27th).

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; former Party General Secretaries Le Kha Phieu and Nong Duc Manh; State President Tran Dai Quang; former State President Tran Duc Luong; Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An; and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man joined the delegation.

Other Party and State leaders and former leaders; Politburo members; Secretaries of the Party Central Committee; Vice State Presidents; Deputy Prime Ministers; Vice National Assembly Chairpersons; inter alias veteran revolutionary cadres and leaders of central and ministerial agencies also attended the ceremony.

The delegation members showed their respect for the nation’s elite who bravely sacrificed themselves for national independence and freedom, for socialism and international duty, expressing that the Party, State and people forever remember and are grateful to the glorious service of fallen soldiers, as well as wounded and sick soldiers. 

Care for persons with meritorious service to the revolution has become regular and long-term task of the whole political system and society, which reveals the preeminent and good nature of the regime, contributing to reinforcing the national great unity, and increasing the trust of the people in the Party and State.

Laying a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the delegation members expressed their unlimited gratitude towards his great contributions to the Party and the nation’s glorious revolutionary process.

Seventy-one years ago, President Ho Chi Minh chose July 27th as the Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers, in order to show remembrance to heroic fallen soldiers, wounded soldiers, families with meritorious service to the revolution, who devoted themselves to the national independence and freedom, for people’s happiness./.
