Honored people will be carefully selected by management experts, and must be approved by Seoul City Council.

Ms Phuong expressed her honor when being selected as an honorary citizen of Seoul, because this also means that her activities and contributions have been recognized.

She hopes that in the coming time, through her activities, such as translating for high-ranking missions of the Vietnamese Government, teaching Vietnamese and Korean languages, broadcasting radio and television will be able to contribute to strengthening the Vietnam-RoK relations, as well as promoting beautiful images of Vietnam and RoK to people of the two countries and in globe.

Foreign nationals who are recognized as "Honorary Citizens" of Seoul will be able to participate in the administrative tasks of the city, as well as be appointed as policy advisers of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, or invited to attend events organized by the city.

This event aims to honor typical foreign individuals who have three consecutive years living in Seoul (or five years of accumulation), with many positive contributions for Seoul city as well as community activities.

Viettel Peru earns over 24.5 million USD in nine months

In the Jan-Sept period of this year, total revenue of Bitel, a subsidiary of the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group in Peru, reached 274.2 million USD and profit before tax of 24.5 million USD.

The profit before tax of Viettel Peru exceeded the plan and increased by 2.5 times over the same period last year, while revenue growth reached double digits.

Currently, Bitel is operated by the Viettel Foreign Investment Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Global), but Bitel's business results have not been incorporated into Viettel Global's report due to the law provisions in Peru.

The statistics of Osiptel, Peru’s Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications, shows that in the context of other carriers growing slowly or declining market share this year, Bitel's market share increased by 1 percent and became the operator with the best market share growth in Peru.

According to General Director of Bitel Phan Hoang Viet, Bitel now occupies a 16.3 percent market share and it is expected to gain 18 percent market share next year.

Vietnam's rice named best at World Rice Conference 2019

This is the first time Vietnamese rice has been awarded this title.

The TRT World Rice Conference is the largest annual gathering of commercial and professional rice industry participants in the world.

The ST24 rice variety was developed by a group of agricultural engineers led by Ho Quang Cua, who was former deputy director of Soc Trang provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

This is a high-yield rice variety that can provide 2-3 crops per year. It is long-grain white rice with an aroma of pineapple. Early this month, it also won first prize in Vietnam’s rice contest held by the Vietnam Food Association.

This rice variety is recognised as a specialty of Soc Trang province. It has been planted widely in the Mekong Delta region and some other localities in the country since 2010. This rice variety can yield up to 8.5 tonnes per hectare. It is also considered a climate-resilient one in the Mekong Delta as it can adapt to saline, alum soil and is suitable for rice-shrimp inter-cropping areas.

In March this year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development officially recognised the ST24 as a national rice variety.

Mr. Luong Minh Quyet, Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that ST24 rice is the pride of Soc Trang. With this honored brand, the province will expand the growing area for this rice variety in the near future, focusing on developing the ST24 organic rice model./.
