Long An province exports 50 tons of dragon fruit by sea per day

The Dragon Fruit Association in Long An province exports 50 tons of dragon fruit per day on average to China and other Southeast Asian nations by sea as export by road has faced lots of difficulties due to the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic.

The information was released by Chairman of the association Nguyen Quoc Trinh.

He sai that the epidemic has long caused stagnancy in dragon fruit export and price drop plaguing farmers.

The association has exported over 1,000 tons since the Lunar New Year festival. Before Tet holiday, traders paid as low as VND5,000 a kilogram of red flesh dragon fruit. The price increases to VND12,000-15,000 a kilogram now.

After transporting the fruit to China and some other nations by sea, mostly through Cat Lai seaport, traders sell the fruit in local markets at the price of VND40,000-42,000 a kilogram.

The volume of dragon fruit exported by sea has been increasing for the last few days.

Petrol prices drop for third time

The retail prices of petrol were strongly reduced starting 3pm on February 14th in the latest review, the third decrease since the beginning of the year.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance review fuel prices every 15 days to adjust domestic prices in accordance with fluctuations in the global market.

Price of E5RON92 dropped by 765 VND per litre to 18,503 VND per litre at the highest, while that of RON95-III was adjusted down by 742 VND per litre to 19,380 VND per litre.

The prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene were capped at 15,175 VND and 13,954 VND per litre, dropping 961 VND and 1,108 VND per litre, respectively.

Meanwhile, mazut 180CST is sold at no more than 11,652 VND per kg, down 792 VND per kg./.

Overseas Vietnamese in Poland present face masks to Vinh Phuc province

The State Commision for Overseas Vietnamese and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Poland to present 16,000 face masks to the northern province of Vinh Phuc on February 14th to fight acute respiratory disease caused by a novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

To date, 11 out of the 16 infection cases of Vietnam have been confirmed in the province.

Speak at a ceremony held to present the face masks in the province’s Vinh Yen city, Vice President of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Poland Nguyen Viet Trieu said overseas Vietnamese in Poland as well as other European nations have launched fundraising campaigns and sent necessities to support people at home.

Vice Chairman of the Vinh Phuc provincial People’s Committee Le Duy Thanh thanked the overseas Vietnamese in Poland for the aid and emphasized local authorities have taken necessary measures in a bid to prevent and control the disease.

A second batch of relief for Vinh Phuc province, including 12,000 face masks and antiseptics, is expected to arrive in the country three days later./.
