President Ho Chi Minh praised in Vietnam and foreign countries

Party and State leaders and National Assembly (NA) on May 19th deputies paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh to mark the leader’s 130th birthday (May 19th), one day ahead of the 14th parliament’s ninth session.

The delegation included Politburo member and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Politburo member and Standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, along with Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man.

Other Politburo members, secretaries of the Party Central Committee, the Vice President, NA vice chairpersons, deputy prime ministers, officials of ministries and sectors, along with legislators were also present, reported VNA.

Laying wreaths at the leader’s mausoleum, the delegates expressed their endless gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, who devoted his entire life to national independence, freedom and the people’s happiness.

Also on May 19th, leaders of the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and VFF Committee of Ho Chi Minh city, along with the local populace, paid tribute to the late President at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in the city and his statue in District 1.

Offering flowers at President Ho Chi Minh’s statue in Mexico

The Embassy of Vietnam in Mexico offered flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the embassy’s campus on May 18th on the occasion of his 130th birthday.

Speaking in front of embassy staff and representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community, Ambassador Nguyen Hoai Duong highlighted the President’s remarkable contributions to the cause of national revolution.

He was a shining model of revolutionary heroism and solidarity in fighting, the ambassador said.

The diplomat called on the Vietnamese community in Mexico to continue promoting the campaign of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style, as well as actively implement the Vietnamese Party and State’s foreign policies, and contribute to the reinforcement and development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Mexico.

Algerian media spotlight President Ho Chi Minh

Various media agencies and newspapers in Algeria have praised President Ho Chi Minh’s morality and thoughts as well as his contributions to Vietnam’s national liberation and reunification, and liberation movements across the world.

Algerian news agency APS has run an article highlighting the former leader’s patriotism and cited a list of the most 100 outstanding people of the 20th century by the US’s The Times in December 1999, on which the Vietnamese President was named in the top 20.

Apart from colonised nations, he also focused on disadvantaged groups around the world, the article said, adding that the President highly valued intellectuals and had a dedicated network from different political trends both at home and abroad.

Elmoudjahid newspaper also published an article on the occasion, saying he was the founder of the Vietnamese revolution and a symbol of the anti-colonialism movement.

The President used his talents, culture and thoughts to serve the struggles of oppressed nations worldwide, it said.

English language book on President Ho Chi Minh released in Thailand

A book titled "President Ho Chi Minh, the Founder of Modern Vietnam - Thailand Relations" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prachacksha Saisang of Lam-pang University is set to be published in the English language in Thailand in celebration of the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

The book has been co-written by both Vietnamese and Thai authors, most notably Assistant Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Hang of the University of Lampang Rajabhat, in addition to Prof. Chuan Petkaew from the University of Suratthani Rajabhat. Indeed, it had originally been published in both the Vietnamese and Thai languages during May last year./.
