12th PCC member, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung on July 17th received Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Vietnam Obaid Saeed Bintaresh Aldhaheri to discuss cooperative issues.

Ambassador Obaid Saeed Bintaresh Aldhaheri stressed that the UAE Government considers Vietnam an important partner. “The two countries are going to sign a cooperation deal on culture and sports, with a focus on connecting their traditional culture,” he said. “To promote tourism cooperation, UAE airlines have increased the number of flights to Vietnam to facilitate tourists’ travel to Vietnam.”
In addition, UAE cares about humanitarian cooperation and is providing some ambulances for hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, according to the UAE Ambassador.
He expressed his hope that Hanoi will make favourable conditions for promoting tourism cooperation and for UAE businesses to invest in Vietnam; and that activities on bilateral trade cooperation will continue to rise in the future to match the potential of the two countries’ relationship.
The visiting official also pledged to promote the image of Vietnam and UAE, as well as the cooperation in culture, tourism and investment, for the benefit of the two peoples.
Agreeing that there is a lot of potential in cooperation between the two sides, Chairman Chung said that Hanoi has some products such as garment and textile, leather footwear, agricultural and food products, which can satisfy the UAE market’s requirements.
He confirmed that the city will be willing to support UAE businesses to invest in the city’s market, and encourage activities promoting the UAE culture in the city, expressing his hope that the UAE Ambassador will become a link in making the relationship between UAE and Vietnam, as well as Hanoi, more practical and effective./.
