Singaporean trade and investment relationship with Ho Chi Minh city appreciated

Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee, has expressed appreciation for the trade and investment relationship between Singapore and Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh city.

He made the statement during his reception for Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security of Singapore, on March 25th.

According to Mr. Nhan, Singapore continues to be the 3rd largest investor in Vietnam and the largest one in the city, with 1,000 projects worth USD10.5 billion.

During the reception, Teo Chee Hean said he was satisfied with the Singapore - Vietnam strategic partnership as well as the relationship in the framework of ASEAN and multi-lateral organizations, including the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) of which both Singapore and Vietnam are members.

He also appreciated 100 Vietnamese businesses investing in Singapore, including many start-up projects./.
