During a ceremony held on June 3rd, Nguyen Van Doc, Secretary of the Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, was presented with a second-class Labor Medal, while third class Labor Medals were awarded to Do Thi Hoang, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Nguyen Duc Long, former Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and former Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Meanwhile, Friendship Medals were presented to the Ha Long University, the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs and the provincial Department of Education and Training.
Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Van Doc expressed his thanks to the Lao Party and State for recognizing Quang Ninh’s collectives and individuals and honoring them, as well as leaders of the three Lao provinces of Luang Prabang, Xayabury and Houaphan, for working with Quang Ninh’s leaders in directing the promotion of effective cooperation among the provinces over the past years, which he said made important contribution to reinforcing the cooperation and special friendship between the two nations.
According to Mr. Doc, after nearly eight years of implementation, the cooperative program between Quang Ninh and the Northern Laos provinces have gained positive results; notably the cooperation in education and training as well as the construction of public works. Each year, the two sides exchange high-ranking delegations to discuss and deploy cooperation agreements.
He pledged that Quang Ninh will continue to promote comprehensive cooperation with the Laos partners in a more practical and effective manner, contributing to the Vietnam - Laos special solidarity./.
