2017 Toyota Scholarships granted to young Vietnamese music talents

Some 85 young Vietnamese music talents on December 26th were granted 2017 Toyota Scholarships at a ceremony in Hanoi.

The recipients are outstanding students from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hue Academy of Music, Ho Chi Minh city Conservatory of Music, the College of Culture and Arts of Northwest, Tay Bac Arts and Culture College, and Viet Bac Arts and Culture College.

In addition, the organising board presented traditional musical instruments to support teaching and learning activities, as well as preserve and develop Vietnamese cultural heritage elements.

According to Le Thi Thu Hien, Head of the Department of Training under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the program contributes to encourage the studying spirit of students and makes active contribution to the development of Vietnamese music.

First Vice President of Toyota Motor Vietnam Do Thu Hoang said that since 2009, the Japanese company has granted 815 scholarships to outstanding students and created chances for students to practise and perform with professional orchestras at major music events./.
