JICA improves hospital management competency

(CPV) - The Record of Discussion for a technical cooperation project on “Improvement of hospital management competency” was signed on August 26th by Dr. Nguyen Truong Son, Director of Cho Ray hospital and Mr. Yasuo Fujita, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam.

The project is expected to bring maximum effect to the provision of health care services of Ho Chi Minh city-based Cho Ray hospital and Cho Ray Vietnam-Japan friendship hospital in collaboration with the Japanese Yen loan project titled “Cho Ray Vietnam-Japan friendship hospital development”.

Aiming to strengthen the provision of advanced medical services and health care, there are three main outputs include: patient-oriented and high quality medical services are enhanced by operating patient safety, Multi-professional and clinical pathway effectively while enhancing internal cross sectional activities in the hospitals; Measures for infection control at international level are strengthened; and the capacity of Cho Ray hospital and the Cho Ray Vietnam-Japan friendship hospital to strengthen functions of affiliated hospitals is enhanced.

This goes in line with the target set by the Vietnam’s Ministry of Health in improving hospital management competency not only for Cho Ray hospital but also for affiliated hospitals in Southern Vietnam.

Beside, the Japanese project will contribute to creating favorable conditions for improvement of medical services provision as well as enhancement of the capability of medical sector’s human resource.

Through this project, JICA conveys its message of not only providing financial support for the construction of an advanced Japanese technology hospital but also ensuring sound management and operation of hospitals in the nation./.
