According to New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Wendy Matthews, New Zealand and Vietnam celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations in 2020. Relations between the two countries have been strengthened and there is significant potential to grow the relationship even further, especially in the field of education.

Continuing the program’s success in 2019, the number of scholarships this year increases from 36 to 40. The scholarships provide a 50% subsidy on school tuition fees for the first year of study and target outstanding Vietnamese students with the required passion and competency to experience New Zealand’s world-class education.

Last year, New Zealand signed collaboration agreements with the Departments of Education and Training of HCMC and Hanoi to lay a great foundation to deliver key education initiatives. The New Zealand Schools Scholarships program highlights New Zealand’s continuing commitment to support Vietnamese students.

John Laxon, Regional Director of ENZ in Asia, said that all 40 schools joining the New Zealand Schools Scholarships program are highly regarded institutions, providing Vietnamese students with a wide range of great choices across different regions in New Zealand.

Applications for the scholarships will be open from February 10th to April 13th, 2020. For more information about the scholarships, visit www.nzschoolscholarships.co.nz./.
