The first one is CD 1.0 disinfection robot (Covid Defender 1.0). It is equipped with STM34F4 microcontroller, with strong configuration and outstanding features. The robot is controlled remotely (maximum distance of 2,000m) for spraying disinfectant in isolation areas, or SARS-CoV-2 virus treatment rooms at hospitals. The robot body is equipped with a smartphone, allowing easy viewing and remote control via video call.

Robot arm is a nozzle. The spray distance from each side of the robot body is about 1m, the front and the top are about 2m, so the robot can move in one turn to completely disinfect a lobby, corridor and room of an isolation area or hospital.

With the ability to move flexibly using two independent drives and compact dimensions, the 50kg - robot can work in narrow spaces. With the load capacity of about 170kg and 6-hour consecutive working time and maximum travel speed of 15km/h, the robot can be used for many applications with different features such as transporting medicines and healthcare materials, meals for patients, or for rescue environmental monitoring and fire fighting.

This robot will continue to be used for other jobs and functions such as fire fighting, rescue in environments and conditions where human resources cannot directly enter due to life-threatening or too difficult conditions.

The second one is Disinfection Robot 1.0 (Disinfection Robot 1.0). It integrates UV germicidal technology, which is popular in Europe, and self-propelled robot technology, researched and developed at Ton Duc Thang University, so it can move in a space by itself, memorize the workspace and repeat the journey.

In terms of disinfection technology, the robot uses UV irradiation technology, which is an ultraviolet ray disinfection technology that destroys the DNA structure of bacteria and viruses.

Due to its targeting DNA, UV technology kills more viruses and bacteria than traditional chemical spray technology, with disinfection effectiveness of 99.99%.

The robot’s outstanding advantages is to use UV irradiation technology, so it doesn’t create by-products harmful to the environment and leaves no chemicals to create chemical reactions.

Therefore, this robot is very suitable for disinfecting in working rooms of groups or individuals without affecting active devices. The robot has 360 degree coverage and disinfection capacity of about 15 minutes/room. In addition, the robot uses Ultraviolet Bulbs for UV Technology, so it is highly economical, easy to maintain, and doesn’t require preparation, preservation or extraction of disinfectant liquid, ensuring maximum safety for the operator.

Because both robots are capable of being developed into robots with different functions, when the COVID-19 epidemic is controlled, these multi-functional robots can be developed to serve other purposes in the field of health care, as well as dangerous and difficult jobs.

In addition, the team has been developing these 2 products into robots, which are smarter and more versatile; can be used for more different purposes to support health workers and epidemic prevention in the short term; In the long run, the product will be developed in the direction to meet users’ different demands.

The cost for production and marketing of these products is estimated to be three to five times cheaper than the cost of importing similar products./.
