Vietnamese university up 100 places in QS rankings

The Hanoi University of Science and Technology of Vietnam ranked 351st-400th in engineering - mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing group, and 451st-500th in computer science and information systems group, up 50 - 100 places from 2019.

The ranking was by the UK’s education organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in QS World University Rankings by Subject, which were announced on March 4th.

Under the rankings, four Vietnam universities were listed, including the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the Vietnam National University - Hanoi, the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh city, and the Can Tho University.

Accordingly, the Vietnam National University - Hanoi’s maths was on the list of the 401st - 450th group for the first time, and the top in Vietnam. Its physics and astronomy was rated 551st - 600th globally, and also the top in Vietnam.

Its computer science and information systems was in the 501st - 550th group, and the second in the country, higher than the 2019 rankings.

The Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh city’s computer science and information system was in the 551st - 600th group.

The Can Tho University was ranked 251st-300th group in agriculture and forestry.

The ratings assess the best universities worldwide, with 48 disciplines in 5 areas. This year, 1,368 educational establishments from 158 countries were listed./.
