As of the end of 2017, 720 of 724 villages, or 99.57% of the village, and 96.4% of families in the province had access to the national grid.

These results were brought about by an acceleration of investment in upgrading and constructing the power system, in order to increase the quality of power, especially in rural, remote and border areas.

According to Director of the provincial Power Company Tran Van Thuan, in 2017 alone, the company upgraded and built the power system using over VND179 billion, besides power projects conducted by the Central Power Corporation.

Additionally, a program on providing power for extremely disadvantaged and border villages was carried out in Tuy Duc district in accordance with the Prime Minister’s decision, using over VND20 billion. Besides, tens of billions of VND was spent upgrading and extending the national power grid to 100% of districts and Gia Nghia town.

To increase the quality of power supply and customer services, the company now manages some 3,390 kilometres of lines, 1,800 transformer stations with a capacity of 300,000 kVA, and over 142,000 customers./.
