The Tam Hoa Plum Festival, which started in June 3rd in Bac Ha town, the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai, is the festival of plum growers and tourists who love the kind of high quality plums which are only seen in the northwestern region.
With over 500 hectares of plum, Bac Ha district is the main place of Tam Hoa plums in Lao Cai province and the northwestern region.
This year, Bac Ha district harvests over 3,500 tons of the fruit.
With the average price of VND30,000 per kilograms, the fruit brings tens of billions of VND to planters.
The fruits help boost sustainable poverty reduction among ethnic minority groups.
