Ho Chi Minh city holds festival on caring for children’s health

Caring for children’s health, improving their physical condition and satisfying their recreation demand are among targets Ho Chi Minh city will realize in June - the action month for children.

So confirmed Nguyen Huu Hung, Deputy Head of the city Department of Health, during the festival on caring for children’s health which was organized on June 2nd-3rd, involving some 10,000 children.

According to Mr. Hung, the festival attracted the participation of doctors from major hospitals, including the Pediatrics Hospital 1, the Pediatrics Hospital 2, the city Children’s Hospital, the city Eye Hospital, the city Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology and the Nutrition Centre. Children coming to the festival received free medical check-ups, treatment and medicine, while their parents were provided with knowledge on caring for children’s health, including vaccination, nutrition and prevention of diseases.

Additionally, they received free entrance to Dam Sen Park to enjoy games and art performance after the school year.

In particular, this year’s festival focused care on disadvantaged children, including those infected with HIV/AIDS, those with disabilities and those living in sponsorship houses. As many as 600 disadvantaged children were presented with presents and free games at Dam Sen park.

Initiated since 2013, the annual festival has been organized on a larger and larger scale with more practical activities, contributing to caring for children’s health./.
