Ho Chi Minh city honours outstanding blood donors

To mark the World Blood Donor Day, on June 14th, the Ho Chi Minh city Steering Committee on Voluntary Blood Donation collaborated with the city Humanitarian Blood Donation Center to hold a gala in honor of outstanding blood donors.

During the gala, apart from art performances, 200 volunteers arranged themselves to form the numbers of 14 and 6 to mark the special event this year, when Vietnam was chosen to host the World Blood Donor Day for the first time.
The exchange with 11 outstanding individuals and families in Ho Chi Minh city who had made active contributions to voluntary blood donation activities, helped the audience understand more about the humanitarian deed that brings life to patients.
The Ho Chi Minh city Steering Committee on Voluntary Blood Donation showed its gratitude towards over two million people, since the establishment of the city Humanitarian Blood Donation Center, who donated blood to save patients, especially 10,000 people of the preparatory blood donation teams across 24 districts who stand ready to donate blood for emergency cases at hospital, and 196 people that have rare blood types.
On this occasion, the organizing committee introduced 35 volunteers from Ho Chi Minh city who will join the largest blood donation program, the Red Journey 2017./.
