Ho Chi Minh city supports poor families in Binh Thuan province

A working delegation from Ho Chi Minh city visited and gave presents worth VND150 million to 30 poor families, in Binh Thuan province’s Phan Thiet city, whose houses had been swept away or collapsed due to sea water intrusion.

According to Nguyen Tan Ngoi, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city Fatherland Front, after hearing about over 300 families in Phan Thiet city having been seriously affected by sea water intrusion, the Ho Chi Minh city Fatherland Front encouraged people to support the affected families. The city gave assistance of VND5 million to each family help them overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Recently, strong sea water intrusion swept away or collapsed over 300 houses in coastal communes in Phan Thiet city.

The Binh Thuan provincial and Phan Thiet city People’s Committees have issued policies to build charitable houses to serve as temporary accommodations for affected residents./.
