In particular, the program showed special care for poor people, those suufering dangerous diseases, orphans, disadvantaged pupils with excellent academic results, and natural disaster-affected people in Hanoi and the 21 localities of Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Son La, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Dien Bien, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh.
During the program, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan presented capital in support of 150 poor families in Hoa Binh, Son La and Yen Bai provinces whose houses had collapsed during floods, using VND6 billion.
Hanoi also provided 100,000 chairs worth VND13 billion for cultural houses; and 2,000 presents worth VND1 billion for pupils from boarding schools in the 10 provinces of Son La, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Ha Gang, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Dien Bien and Thai Nguyen.
Additionally, 240 children with congenital heart diseases or cleft palate will be assisted with VND6.84 billion for operations, while the others living in difficult conditions or suffering dangerous diseases will receive savings books and scholarships.
Leaders from Hanoi localities signed to pledge to build and repair houses for 4,046 poor families with over VND163 billion./.
