Huynh Thai Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the city Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said that over the past years, encouraging achievements had been made in blood donation in the city, contributing to preparing adequate blood for the medical sector.

Noting that blood donation drives received great care from relevant agencies, he confirmed that Red Sunday helped encourage voluntary blood donation among youth.

Can Tho is among diverse localities that organized Red Sunday on January 13th-14th, beside Dong Nai, Yen Bai, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa and Da Nang.

The 10th Red Sunday is taking place across 33 localities nationwide and lasting until January 28th. Some 150,000 people are expected to join in blood donation, collecting some 35,000 units of blood.
