According to the NFVC, the assistance aims to encourage disadvantaged children and those who are affected by natural resources and who overcome difficulties to gain excellent academic results.

Of which, the organization presented 150 scholarships, 600 presents, 200 sets of school supplies and 50 bicycles worth over VND500 million to children in Nghe An province’s Con Cuong district.

In Tuyen Quang province, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan gave 418 presents worth VND300,000 each from the NFVC to children in Son Duong district.

Meanwhile, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh also provided 100 scholarships worth VND1 million to disadvantaged children with excellent academic results in Tuyen Quang province.

In Ben Tre province, 300 disadvantaged children received scholarships worth VND1 million from the organization.

Diverse other programs have also been held to give presents to children in Hoa Binh, Thua Thien - Hue, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Phu Tho and Bac Giang.

There are currently nearly 1.5 million children living in disadvantaged circumstances (orphaned, disabled, homeless or labor abused) and over 2.5 million children are at risk of falling into special circumstances (poor, trafficked or kidnapped), which requires greater care from the Party, State and communities./.
