In Decision 1598/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the election of Mr. Duong Van Thai as Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee for the 2016 - 2021 term.

Duong Van Thai, 49, is from Lam Cot commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province. He holds a PhD in Economics.
The new Chairman held many positions such as staff of Department of Information, Culture and Sports, Head of the Department of Tax of Bac Giang town, Chairman of the Bac Giang town People’s Committee, and Deputy Head of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee since May 2015.
He was also elected as Deputy Secretary of the Bac Giang provincial Party Committee in October 2019.
Earlier at the 8th meeting of the 18th Bac Giang provincial People’s Council, Mr. Thai was elected as Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2016 - 2021 term, replacing Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, who retires./.
