Accordingly, the Tho Xuan 1 solar power project will use investment of nearly VND1.25 trillion on an area of some 60 hectares while the Tho Xuan 2 solar power plant is invested with over VND1.2 trillion on some 60 hectares.

Each has a designed capacity of over 49.6 MW, and they are expected to produce some 76.2 million kWh per year from June 30.

According to Tran Huu The, Vice Chairman of the Phu Yen provincial People’s Committee, three solar power plants using a capital of nearly VND8 trillion have been inaugurated in Phu Yen province, making great contribution to ensuring energy security. “The Tho Xuan 1 and 2 solar power plants will help create a source for local budget and jobs for labourers,” he said.

Studies show that the average number of hours of sun in Phu Yen province is 2,467, with the average radiation amount of over 1,700kWh per square meter, which is a great advantage in attracting clean energy. So far, six solar power projects have been licensed in the province./.
