Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani on August 3rd was sworn in for his second term at a ceremony overseen by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamanei.

“I confirm the vote and appoint you as president of the republic,” Mr. Khamenei said in front of a packed audience of Iranian officials.
Mr. Hassan Rouhani is a lawyer, academic, former diplomat and Islamic cleric. He has been a member of Iran's Assembly of Experts since 1999, member of the Expediency Council since 1991, and a member of the Supreme National Security Council since 1989.
Rouhani will have two weeks to present his cabinet to parliament for a vote of confidence./.
