 Ebola virus

On August 18, the Government of Cameroon decided to close it’s border Nigeria to prevent the possible spread of the Ebola virus.

The spokesman for Cameroons Department of Foreign Affairs, Chiroumma Boukkari, said the decision to close the borders with Nigeria had become inevitable given the infection rate of the virus throughout the entire region.

According to the latest reports, there are, as yet, no cases of Ebola in Cameroon which has over 2000km of border with southern Nigeria.

The Ebola epidemic, the world’s largest and deadliest so far, broke out in Guinea in March and has spread to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, claiming over 1,000 lives./.
