The ceremony will be held on January 28th at Madison Square Garden, which last hosted the Grammys in 2003. Nominees for the 60th annual Grammy Awards will be announced  later this year.

A Grammy Award is an honour awarded by the Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the mainly English-language music industry. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. It carries recognition in the music industry similar to that of the other performance awards such as the Emmy Awards (television), the Tony Awards (stage performance), and the Academy Awards (motion pictures).

The first Grammy Awards ceremony was held on May 4th, 1959, to honour and respect the musical accomplishments by performers for the year 1958. Following the 2011 ceremony, the Academy overhauled many Grammy Award categories for 2012.

The 59th Grammy Awards, honouring the best achievements from October 2015 to September 2016, was held on February 12th, 2017, at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles./.
