At the 15th round of their Foreign Office Consultations, the two sides also positively assessed the progress in implementation of decisions taken during the state visit of the President of Iran to India in February 2018.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the efforts being made by various Parties to address issues that have arisen over the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
It was agreed to maintain the momentum of mutually beneficial multi-faceted cooperation and exchanges and to hold the next round of the Meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of foreign ministers, next November in Iran.
India and Iran have friendly relations in many areas. There are significant trade ties, particularly in crude oil imports into India and diesel exports to Iran.
Iran is India’s third-largest oil supplier after Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Iran supplied 18.4 million tons of crude oil between April 2017 and January 2018 (first 10 months of fiscal year 2017-2018)./.
