Seoul’s presidential Blue House said that it had received intelligence suggesting the DPRK was dismantling the Sohae test site and welcomed the news. “It will likely have a good effect on denuclearisation,” Mr. Nam told reporters.

“It is a better sign than nothing, and I believe DPRK is moving step by step toward denuclearisation,” he added.

The Sohae satellite launching station is a rocket launching site in Cholsn county, north Pyongan province. The station has been used to test rockets, with the aim of putting a satellite into orbit.

Earlier, the DPRK on July 23rd, started dismantling key facilities at Sohae satellite launching station, in a first step toward fulfilling a pledge made to US President Donald Trump at the historic summit between him and DPRK’s leader Kim Jong-un on June 12th in Singapore./.
