The Republic of Korea (RoK) Ministry of Unification (MoU) has announced the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the RoK agreed to hold high-level talks at the border village of Panmunjom.

“The government will advance the inter-Korean relations to a higher stage by implementing the Panmunjom and Pyongyang Joint Declarations in a speedy manner, and continue our endeavor for peace and prosperity of the Korean peninsula,” the MoU said.
RoK Minister of Unification Cho Myoung-gyon led a delegation including Vice Minister of Unification Chun Hae-sung, Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Jeong-ryeol, and Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Roh Tae-gang to attend a meeting with DPRK side in the truce village of Panmunjom on October 15th.
DPRK delegation, led by Chairman of DPRK’s Committee for Peaceful Reunification Ri Son-gwon, included Vice Minister of Railways Kim Yun-hyok, Vice Minister of Land and Environment Protection Park Ho-yong and Vice Minister of Sports Won Kil-u.
Through the high-level meeting, the two sides discussed ways to implement the Pyongyang agreement overall and finalize the schedules for follow-on talks on each area," the MoU said in a statement.
At the talks, senior delegates from DPRK and RoK also agreed to hold a general-grade military dialogue as early as possible to discuss ways to end hostile confrontation near border areas and how to form a joint inter-Korean military committee./.
