(CPV) – The tournament drew the participation of 15 teams from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Bac Kan, Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh and Can Tho city.
Archers competed in men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and team events in the Recurve (one-string bow) and Compound (three-string bow) categories. The male athletes competed in 90m, 70m, 50m and 30m distance categories, while the women’s categories included 70m, 60m, 50m and 30m.
The week-long tournament, which wrapped up in Hanoi on August 10, created an opportunity to select outstanding young archers for the national team to compete at regional and international competitions.
Seven athletes from Quang Ninh provincial competing and training centre have pocketed one silver medal and 3 bronze medals, in which junior Nguyen Trung Duc won his silver medal in the men’s compound event (30 m distance).
The team from Hanoi came out on top at the championships with a total of 40 medals, including 23 gold, 12 silver and five bronze, followed by the Tra Vinh team with three gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
The Vinh Long province delegation came third with two gold, three silver and three bronze medals./.
